Yesterday Carlsen beat Anand for the first time in his life. It was an interesting game with ups and downs. In the end it was Anand who made the last mistake in an endgame where he had been under pressure for most of the time.

    y cant anand take the pawn on h2 (on move 9 i believe? when the rook attacks the knight and the pawn behind it)

    Hi Chav,

    I assume you mean move 8, since on move 9 Black has to recapture the piece first.

    Yes, it seems like a perfectly viable option:
    8…Nxh2 9.Nxh2 Bxh2 10.Rxg7 Bd6 (10…Qf6 11.Rg2 Bd6 12.e4 += with some initiative for White) 11.cxd5 Qf6 12.Rg2 exd5 and the position is more or less balanced.
